Echuca is more well known for its peacefull paddle steamers chugging along the Murray River, or for the speed and skiing of the Southern 80 weekend.
It wasn't London calling to the far away towns this weekend - it was Echuca, and it was Grand Final weekend, now war is declared.
With most people only traveling up from Melbourne, Murray and I were the last to arrive - but at 2.15am after a 10hr drive, at the infamous "Shammy" we sweet talked security to let us in. A decision I bet they regretted instantly. We received a champions welcome. It was going to be a good weekend.
