The Game - Final Siren Sounds

Geelong didn't give up for the whole game, playing like a team all the way to the end. Never loosing thier cool.

Geelong 24.19 (163) Port Adelaide 6.8 (44)

The ball winds up with Matthew Scarlett on the half-back line and finally, the siren sounds. What a way for the Cats to end their 44-year premiership drought. A Brownlow Medal, a VFL Premiership, the minor premiership and now an all-time record 119-point win in the Toyota AFL Grand Final.

Geelong players past and present flood the MCG as Cats fans rise to their feet. Jimmy Bartel cracks a wry smile. Gary Ablett grins. Coach Bomber Thompson skips around like a man whose lid is well and truly off.

“It’s bloody amazing,” says Cameron Ling. He’s bloody right.
